"New-ID was born out of frustration with my experiences of 'school improvement'. This usually involved one of two approaches:

1) Someone arriving to the Headteacher's office, looking at some paperwork, making suggestions, then leaving and coming back some months later.

Or:

2) Someone arriving and delivering a really inspirational session to the whole staff leaving us energised and full of good intentions. Only to find that after a few days of the usual grind we'd all forgotten what we were energised about and what we all committed to doing!

I just knew that we deserved better than that. Meaningful change, embedded and sustainable."

So what's different about New-ID?

Inspired by learning about the QI model for Quality Improvement, David recognised how it could be applied to all kinds of educational settings.

The model focuses on micro-changes based on root-case analysis and a willingness to experiment with novel approaches. It challenges the perceived wisdoms of organisations and sectors, allowing individuals and teams to explore strategies with a recognition that some will fail, whilst others will bring huge benefit and positive impact.

Thus NEW-ID is a facilitator of improvement, rather than an educational magician who arrives with their box of tricks ready to solve every problem in a uniform manner.
